On a recent trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, I was lucky to catch the park in the middle of a heavy snow storm. This photo of a solitary tree in the snow was taken in Moraine Park. On a clear day, the background in this photo would be a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains.
Growing up in Minnesota, I was always captivated by the sight of the sun rising over misty lakes and the desire to find a way to capture those images on film. That desire to capture a beautiful sunrise has always stayed with me. When I moved to Colorado more than twenty years ago, the inspiration of our state’s beauty and my love of photography met and became one. At home or when traveling the world, I enjoy finding unexpected ways to view both the common and the extraordinary and share these through my photography.
