On an early autumn day I made the drive from Denver to the top of 10,000 foot summit Kenosha Pass in Colorado. It was a frigid morning and the meadow grasses around a small lake were covered in thick frost. The early morning light just peaking over the mountain lit up the ducks as they swam with Colorado's beautiful golden aspens in the background.
Growing up in Minnesota, I was always captivated by the sight of the sun rising over misty lakes and the desire to find a way to capture those images on film. That desire to capture a beautiful sunrise has always stayed with me. When I moved to Colorado more than twenty years ago, the inspiration of our state’s beauty and my love of photography met and became one. At home or when traveling the world, I enjoy finding unexpected ways to view both the common and the extraordinary and share these through my photography.
