A silhouette of double-crested cormorants nesting in a tree on an island in Belmar Park in Lakewood, Colorado. In the background of the photo you'll notice a couple of cormorants flying away in the distance. Cormorants typically nest in colonies on trees on islands or around shores of lakes or rivers.
Growing up in Minnesota, I was always captivated by the sight of the sun rising over misty lakes and the desire to find a way to capture those images on film. That desire to capture a beautiful sunrise has always stayed with me. When I moved to Colorado more than twenty years ago, the inspiration of our state’s beauty and my love of photography met and became one. At home or when traveling the world, I enjoy finding unexpected ways to view both the common and the extraordinary and share these through my photography.
