Artist's Description
Tall trees line a narrow, winding hiking path carpeted by ferns, creating a serene atmosphere. I used an infrared camera and converted the image to black and white, giving it a timeless and tranquil quality. This image was shot in Ecola State Park outside of Cannon Beach in Oregon.
About Kevin Schwalbe

Growing up in Minnesota, I was always captivated by the sight of the sun rising over misty lakes and the desire to find a way to capture those images on film. That desire to capture a beautiful sunrise has always stayed with me. When I moved to Colorado more than twenty years ago, the inspiration of our state’s beauty and my love of photography met and became one. At home or when traveling the world, I enjoy finding unexpected ways to view both the common and the extraordinary and share these through my photography. Resident artist at Gallery 6 in the Santa Fe Arts District in Denver, Colorado. All images ©2000-2023 Kevin Schwalbe. All rights reserved. In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
