Stuck at home for weeks on end due to the lockdown, I finally escaped for a drive through the plains of eastern Colorado. I had no destination in mind. I saw a storm forming on the horizon and just decided to drive towards the darkness ahead. The dark, foreboding sky with the desolate road made for a powerful photo.

Growing up in Minnesota, I was always captivated by the sight of the sun rising over misty lakes and the desire to find a way to capture those images on film. That desire to capture a beautiful sunrise has always stayed with me. When I moved to Colorado more than twenty years ago, the inspiration of our state’s beauty and my love of photography met and became one. At home or when traveling the world, I enjoy finding unexpected ways to view both the common and the extraordinary and share these through my photography.
